Negativity Is Not Discernment

A liberating reflection from Overcoming Negativity.

Some people call constant pessimism realism or discernment. But wisdom can recognize danger without surrendering to hopelessness.

Overcoming Negativity exposes how one painful experience can become a false rule: “Because it happened once, it will always happen.” Negativity uses yesterday’s pain to write tomorrow’s conclusion.

Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on what is true, just, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy. This does not deny difficulty; it refuses to let darkness interpret everything. Separate facts from conclusions. Ask what faithful response remains available: prayer, counsel, an apology, a boundary, or another attempt.

I speak over you today: the cloud of negativity will not remain over your mind. Yesterday will not dictate tomorrow. Your eyes are opening, your language is changing, and hope is returning to places you believed could never live again.
